I seem to be on a kick for revisiting artists that I have previously featured.  I have really enjoyed looking back through old posts and finding how each artists work has evolved. I featured a piece, Growth I, by Katherine Mann in 2008, and I was thrilled to find new work from her in my inbox.

With the year drawing to a close we naturally reflect on the past year. 2009 has been kind to this little blog and I look forward to what 2010 may bring. I was so happy to see Amanda’s work in my inbox earlier this week. Her unique assembled sculptures suspend found objects still visible from the exterior.  Her portfolio displays many unique works and is certainly worth checking out.

I read about a great artist on drawn.ca over the weekend and had to include a feature here.  Miki Sato creates textures rich images with

many found surfaces and textiles creating a uniquely three dimensional and tactile piece.

The work feels influenced by Sato’s sense of illustration and has a wonderful organic feel.  Checkout the site for more great work.
